ILO builds the capacity of social partners and stakeholders on Just Transition in Nigeria

The training programme was oriented along the recommendations provided in the ILO Guidelines for a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all. Participants gained a better understanding on how to reflect aspects around labour market impacts and social justice in the process of shaping a comprehensive set of policies to successfully implement climate change commitments.

Launch of the project “Green jobs for young men and women in Algeria for a just transition to a sustainable work future”

On 1 and 2 June 2022, the ILO Office for Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia, together with the government of Algeria and social partners, organized a workshop to launch a project to promote green and better jobs in Algeria.


A network of outstanding individuals, from government officials to youth groups, is working to become champions of climate action for jobs.

Through these stories, we aim to amplify messages about just transition as a key driver of climate change. The Initiative seeks to create positive change around:

  • How people think
  • Lives and livelihoods
  • Our natural environment
